In this fast-paced "information-dump" style session, I will present many digital tools to help teach 4th and 5th grade content aligned to VBOs. Session participants will:
- Learn how to use the online "Our Virginia" textbook and Delta Readers to assign and check student work
- Learn how to use the Hamilton Musical as part of your Revolutionary War & Reflection on Democracy Unit. Also, learn how to link Language Arts (poetry, rhyming scheme, and figurative language practice) to your lessons along summarizing and finding the main ideas and cause/effect of primary sources.
- Learn how to use Classcraft to review 4th & 5th grade VBOs with Boss Battles and Taxes from the king.
- Gain access to my Google Folder packed with digital resources and activities to share with students through Schoology. In this folders teachers will find Unit Folders with: --> Google Forms for Unit Summative Assessments --> Printable Exit Tickets --> Three Pokemon Card activities to review (Revolutionary War, Civil War, and Modern Virginia) important figures. --> GoFormative Chapter Review Clone Codes for each unit for students to review at the end of the year leading up to SOLs --> Digital SOL News Letters to share with parents --> SOL assignable review homework --> 12 illustrated posters for each unit to print and hang in your class and/or share digitally with your students.
