(C22) Integrating the ViewSonic Interactive Flat Panel into the Classroom
If you have a new ViewSonic Interactive Flat Panel (IFP), and are excited to learn how to integrate it into classroom instruction, then this is a session you do not want to miss! This session will provide you with the basic function and use of your new IFP including tips for cleaning and care, exploration and customization of the Android Embedded Player, how to connect external devices to the Panel, and an overview the control buttons on the front of the Panel. Following this, you will explore the tools that can easily be accessed from the Panel’s side toolbar, and see examples of they can be used to enhance instruction. Be sure to bring your laptop or Chromebook so can participate in a hands-on activity to explore ViewSonic’s myViewBoard collaborative software suite. You will learn how to create digital whiteboard canvases called QuickBoards that will allow your students to collaboratively annotate and engage in lesson activities remotely from their Chromebooks. You will then explore ways to leverage QuickBoards to support classroom management, foster opportunities for student-to-student collaboration, and quickly check for student understanding of concepts shared utilizing the Polling Tool.

Learn all that's new in #BrainPOP for our Back-to-School release! View our NEW Social Emotional Learning aligned videos. Free with your BrainPOP subscription, our SEL collection supports the CASEL framework with just-in-time resources. Then get coding, with Moby! Developed with Scratch and Vidcode, Creative Coding pairs block- and text-based projects with BrainPOP's cross-curricular content. After a brief introduction to coding in the classroom and a short demo, attendees will dive right into BrainPOP's Creative Coding experience. They'll code memes, games, newscasts, comics, and more while learning about the breadth of benefits coding and its associated skills offer. Scaffolded and delivered at the topic level, we'll discuss how these projects make it easy to introduce coding - no matter what educators are covering in class and regardless of prior experience. Finally, check out our NEW Educator Dashboard to track student progress on assignments.

(C21) The Next Generation of Wixie is Here!
Wixie has a new interface which dramatically enhances the usability for both teachers and students. This hands-on session will review the changes and outline integration options made available with the update. This will include a new optional "primary" interface for our youngest users and the new district and school sharing structure. If you are a passionate Wixie user or are looking to expand your current use, this session is a necessary part of the process as you prepare for the upcoming school year.

Are you brand new to Schoology? Are you looking for a way to make your courses more user-friendly? Learn how to ramp up your Schoology courses and have hands-on learning time to add course banners, interactive graphics, pages, and more! ChoppedPD will involve a criteria of components for each course created and teamwork to build the "best" model. Users must have a Schoology license. The course will be an active learning experience.

This session will give participants the opportunity to setup accounts, preview and explore how CK-12 will enhance learning, participate in sample lessons and start building their own libraries!
The "C" in CK-12, what's in it for you? "Content" if you are looking for ways to integrate reading strategies rich in STEM content. "Classroom" for the many different classrooms where students engage with their learning. "Customizable" if you want a resource that students customize to fit their learning needs. "Connections" if your students require the ability to connect their learning with real-world application. "Collaboration" comes easily when inquiry is central to learning.
CK-12 provides the teacher with a variety of options for integrating modifiable content and engaging instructional methods using the CK-12 APP directly from the Schoology platform.

(C14) Connecting Literacy and Technology at the Elementary Level through Flipgrid Global Connections, Scratch Jr Coding, and Stem Design Briefs
During this session, participants will analyze and discuss how literacy and technology are integrated using available elementary resources. Instructional Technology Specialist, Kelly Hoggard will discuss the use of technology tools like Flipgrid alongside powerful resources like Junior Great Books to make global connections. Facilitator will share examples of how to incorporate Scratch Jr Coding, and pair literature with STEM design briefs. Participants will receive a brief introduction to Flipgrid along with examples of how it can be used in the elementary classroom. Participants will also receive access to a file of STEM design briefs. Attendees will need an introductory understanding of Flipgrid.
