Participants will work with through an interactive session that demonstrates, and tests Alexa tools designed to meet the needs of students while fostering growth of independence and creative thinking. In this session, we will be identifying needs of students to cultivate a response for specific classroom pathways while exploring various skills, blueprints and creative tools for use with the Amazon Echo Dot Kids Edition. This session will provide personalized tools ready for immediate use with the Amazon Echo Dot Kids Edition including: • Testing skills/phrases/flash cards • Uses of free time and blueprints (both preloaded and ways to create on your own) • Finding “secret gems” within Alexa (teaching manners, clear speaking, concise questions, visualizing, reading comprehension, math fact fluency) Real Talk from a teacher: I’m going to show you how to harness the power of Alexa to make it a valuable learning tool in your classroom that inspires student creativity, inquisitiveness and independence in a way you never know could exist!

Using Google Sites teachers will be led step by step through creating a Digital Portfolio. Student created Digital Portfolios are an impressive way for students to document their learning process throughout the year. By including photographs, text, embedding links and documents teachers can easily assess student learning and progress throughout the year.
Many classes talk about locations throughout the world but do you use the technology available to you to show these locations to students? In this session, we will examine the Google Cultural Institute, Google Tour Builder and Google Earth for Chromebooks as tools that allow you to give students tours of important locations, buildings, and even art work into your curriculum.
Synth is a podcasting tool which is strictly for audio recordings. Because there is no video attached to a podcast, students who are shy or reluctant to record themselves on video, open up when using this tool. Additionally, the ability to have threaded discussions opens up the doors of possibilities in your classroom. Discussions can have audio or written responses. Come to this session to see how we have connected classroom to classroom as well as classroom to content area experts. We watched our student work and engagement increase as we changed their audience.

Learn how to access content from division-wide curriculum groups, and how to set up and manage your Shared Resources area in Schoology in order to increase collaborative opportunities with your students, as well as teachers in your school and throughout the division.
We will introduce the Book Creator website for the purpose of creating digital books and comic books, research journals, digital portfolios and science or math lab reports for high school. The site allows students to work collaboratively or independently on their products and then publish their work. This is a great way for students to demonstrate their learning, to make student thinking visible, and to amplify student voice. Participants will activate a free account, set up a library and learn how to use all of the tools including narration, video journaling, and exporting or publishing student work.
If you often find yourself repeating the same directions to the same class, come see how to record your screen. You'll see how to use Screencastify and Loom, two tools for recording your screen, your face, or both. We'll also talk about how students can use these tools to demonstrate understanding.

Participants will learn about features of Schoology that promote differentiation, such as Completion Rules, Grading Groups, and Individually Assign.
Does your Google Drive leave you feeling like you're diving for lost treasure? This session will provide you with tips to organize your MyDrive as well as offer tips to help students do the same.
This course will teach you to embed a LTI app that are available with Schoology, such as Gale resources, Playposit, and Discovery Ed. As well as, ways to embed external sites like Quizlet, Peardeck and Flipgrid. This is a great class for anyone ready to up their Schoology game!

This session is for the expert teacher and novice teacher, looking to add to their Digital tool kit, for their Digital Classroom. Participants will be learning about two new exciting teaching tools, Deck.Toys and Gimkitten (formerly Gimkit). Participants will learn how they can effectively use the tools in the classroom for multiple purposes such as; review, teaching new material, and assessing student knowledge. Participants of this session will also receive a novice intro to Quizlet as well.
