In this session, you will have the opportunity to participate in a digital breakout! Participants will need either a laptop or chromebook. Part 2 (optional), you will guided on how to build your own digital breakout to use with your students.

(C7) Empowering Digital Leaders in Your School
Participants in this session will explore a shift in the Digital Citizenship mindset -- from the traditional list of dos and don’ts when teaching online safety to strategies for students to become informed and empowered in their digital communities. Instructors will review ways to reach out to student leaders and students groups and discuss how to implement resources from Kristen Mattson’s Digital Citizenship In Action, Google’s Applied Digital Skills Curriculum, and more. Let’s empower students to take action and be leaders in their digital communities!

(C11) CK12: Where Algebraic Soup and Sampling Halophiles are Just a PLIX away!
This session will give participants the opportunity to setup accounts, preview and explore how CK-12 will enhance learning, participate in sample lessons and start building their own libraries!
The "C" in CK-12, what's in it for you? "Content" if you are looking for ways to integrate reading strategies rich in STEM content. "Classroom" for the many different classrooms where students engage with their learning. "Customizable" if you want a resource that students customize to fit their learning needs. "Connections" if your students require the ability to connect their learning with real-world application. "Collaboration" comes easily when inquiry is central to learning.
CK-12 provides the teacher with a variety of options for integrating modifiable content and engaging instructional methods using the CK-12 APP directly from the Schoology platform.

Has podcasting in the classroom felt like an overwhelming and unmanageable process? It isn't anymore! Synth is an online podcasting website and app that provides an easy to implement platform for your students' voices to be heard while encouraging collaboration. Create opportunities for agency, authentic learning, and publicly showcasing student voice in your classroom in a variety of ways using a tool that encourages communication and listening skills.
